Nordic Naturals

Everyone knows that the human body needs a certain amount of vitamins and minerals everyday to function properly and remain healthy.  A well balanced diet can supply your body with the vitamins it needs, although problems and disorders can arise if your diet doesn’t supply your body with the vitamins it needs.  The symptoms of vitamin deficiency will normally present themselves when the lack of vitamins is at an advanced level.

Those who don’t get enough of vitamins A, B1, and B2 for example, will always feel tired, along with a loss of appetite.  Other symptoms include mental and emotional stress, chapped lips, and other annoying or painful habits.

The most common causes of deficiency include a poor diet, alcoholism, stress, a lack of vitamins, or medicine that interferes with your ingestion of vitamins.  If you are always feeling tired or feeling a lack of energy, you are probably short on the vitamins that your body needs to have on a daily basis.  If you visit your doctor and tell him the problem, he will probably recommend vitamins and supplements that will give you want you need.  Whatever you do, you should never overdo it and try to catch up on what you’ve been missing – as this will do you more harm than good.

Even though you may be following a healthy diet, you’ll still need to take vitamins and supplements.  No75% Off 300x250 Heart Health Banner matter how healthy you eat, you should still use the right vitamins and supplements to give your body what it needs.  Vitamins are a great back up source, as they will provide your body with the minerals and nutrients it needs in the event of your diet failing you.

When you look for supplements, you should always look for those that contain vitamins B6, B12, D, E, and folic acid.  Along with being considered dietary supplements, these well known vitamins will help to fight cancer and help your heart remain healthy.  The combination of these vitamins will help your body to remain healthy, boost your immune system, and keep you feeling refreshed.

To remain healthy and keep your body operating as it should, you’ll need to invest in vitamins and supplements.  You can find them online or at local nutrition stores, many of which won’t cost you much money at all.  No matter what your age may be, you’ll need to ensure that you are eating the right foods and taking the right foods.  Keep in mind that you should never replace food with vitamins, as they are more less meant to give you additional nutrients and minerals.

Anytime you aren’t able to eat the right food, you should always turn to vitamin supplements to give your body what it needs.  Supplements and vitamins are one of the best investments you can make, as everyone needs vitamins in their body.  Even though the costs may add up over time, it is more than worth it when you think about.  For what you spend in vitamins and supplements, you’ll be keeping your body healthy – and preventing a deficiency in vitamins. Although vitamin deficiency is very common these days, it doesn’t have to be.

Vitamin E And Your Body

vitamin-E-facts-multivitamin-reviewWe all know that oxygen is a primary component that is needed for life.  This very same oxygen, once inside of the body, becomes very reactive through certain molecules and will start to cause damage through the free radicals, which is known as oxidative stress.  As an antioxidant, vitamin E will help to prevent this type of stress, which will prevent the cells from aging or sustaining any type of permanent damage as well.

Cholesterol, which is a fatty substance found in many foods, is absorbed by the body then transferred from the liver to be stored by tissue as fat.  This is carried through the bloodstream by molecules known as LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins).  When the LDL is oxidized, it reacts to the cholesterol and a fat substance known as plaque begins to get deposited on the artery walls, which causes the blood flow to stop.

Vitamin E will stop cholesterol from forming into plaque, which will allow the blood to flow properly.  If you don’t use vitamin E, in this situation, the blood will stop flowing and the arteries will begin to get backed up.  As most of us know, this is the main cause of heart attacks, high blood pressure, and other serious diseases.

Even though many researchers and doctors have linked vitamin E to preventing cancer, this hasn’t been conclusively proven.  There are many doctors that have said in the past that vitamin E can indeed prevent cancer, although no documentation or proof has been given to back up such statements.  We all know that it is a very important vitamin, regardless.

banner6There are studies however, that have proven vitamin E to be very effective in protecting the skin against UV rays.  Vitamin E has been shown on numerous occasions to shield the skin from the harmful rays of the sun, which as we all know, can lead to skin cancer.  If you include sources of vitamin E, or supplements in your diet you can help to prevent the damage of UV rays to your skin.

Along with these types of benefits, vitamin E can also protect against alzheimer’s disease and inflammation of the pancreas.  This vitamin can also be very beneficial with reducing scars, and healing many types of burns and wounds.  Included in your diet, vitamin E can help your skin to heal from many discrepancies over time.

When included with vitamin C, vitamin E can be one of the most important vitamins for your body.  It offers many different benefits, besides the ones listed above.  You can find it in many different forms, including fruits and nuts.  Fruits are excellent sources of vitamin E, especially oranges.  Oranges have always been known to be rich in this vitamin, whether you are consuming whole oranges or just drinking orange juice.  If you are drinking orange juice that contains pulp, you’ll be getting plenty of vitamin E in your diet.

All things aside, you should always make sure that you include vitamin E in your diet.  Along with fruits and nuts, you can also find this vitamin plentiful in vegetables as well.  You can include it into your diet, or take supplements that provide it.  You should be getting around 1,000 mg of the vitamin a day, which isn’t hard to do if you eat the right foods.  If you consume the right amount of vitamin E in your diet, you’ll notice that your body will perform much better – and you’ll be well protected against numerous diseases as well.

Benefits of Cardio Interval Training

HerbsPro

cardio-trainingIn a long-term study of the health of the people of in the United States, the U.S. Public Health Service documented the chances of developing heart disease among various groups in the population. Long before the any symptoms appeared, epidemiological research could identify high-risk groups.

Among the highest risk factors are male sex, age over 35, cigarette smoking, high blood pressure, high levels of certain blood fats, and a family history of cardiovascular disorders.

Other researchers have added to this list another risk factor: the compulsive, hard-driving, highly anxious personality. The greater the number of severity, the greater the person’s overall risk.

These threats to the heart can be divided into two main categories: those beyond individual control, such as age, sex, and heredity, and those that can be controlled, avoided, or even eliminated. Among those in the second category are what cardiologists call “the triple threat.” These are the high blood pressure, cigarette smoking, and high cholesterol levels in the blood.

If you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, your risk of having a heart attack is twice that of a nonsmoker. If you smoke, have hypertension, and eat a diet high in fats without any exercise at all, your risk is five times greater than normal.

The Healthy Heart

If these risk factors endanger the heart’s health, what enhances its well-being and improves its odds of working long and well?

Obviously, quitting cigarettes and eating a low-fat diet will help. The next best thing you can do for your heart’s sake is to give it what it needs: regular exercise or a complete cardio interval training.

The heart is a muscle, or, more accurately, a group or “package” of muscles, similar in many ways to the muscles of the arms and legs. And just as exercise strengthens and improves limb muscles, it enhances the health of the heart muscles as well.

Since World War II, several large-scale statistical studies have evaluated the relationship between physical activity and cardiovascular disease. One well-known survey compared 31,000 drivers and conductors of some bus companies. The more sedentary drivers had a significantly higher rate of heart disease than the conductors, who walked around the buses and climbed stairs to the upper level.

The why and how behind these statistics were bet explained by classic experiments with dogs whose coronary arteries were surgically narrowed to resemble those of humans with arteriosclerosis. Dogs who were exercised were had much better blood flow than those kept inactive.

The exercise seemed to stimulate the development of new connections between the impaired and the nearly normal blood vessels, so exercised dogs had a better blood supply to all the muscle tissue of the heart. The human heart reacts in the same way to provide blood to the portion that was damaged by the heart attack.da-mo-2112

To enable the damaged heart muscle to heal, the heart relies on new small blood vessels for what is called collateral circulation. These new branches on the arterial tress can develop long before a heart attack — and can prevent a heart attack if the new network takes on enough of the function of the narrowed vessels.

With all these facts, it is now boiled down to a single question: What should be done in order to prevent such dilemmas?

Some studies showed that moderate exercise several times a week is more effective in building up these auxiliary pathways than extremely vigorous exercise done twice often.

The general rule is that exercise helps reduce the risk of harm to the heart. Some researches further attested the link between exercise and healthy heart based from the findings that the non-exercisers had a 49% greater risk of heart attack than the other people included in the study. The study attributed a third of that risk to sedentary lifestyle alone.

Hence, with employing the cardio interval training, you can absolutely expect positive results not only on areas that concerns your cardiovascular system but on the overall status of your health as well.

This particular activity that is definitely good for the heart is a cycle of “repeated segments” that is of intense nature. In this process, there is an interchange periods of recuperation. It can both be comprehensive activity and moderate motion.

Consequently, the benefits of merely engaging into this kind of activity can bring you more results that you have ever expected. These are:

1. The threats of heart attack are lessened, if not eliminated

2. Enhanced heart task

3. Increase metabolism, increase the chance of burning calories, therefore, assist you in losing weight

4. Improves lung capacity

5. Helps lessen or eliminate the cases of stress

Indeed, cardio interval training is the modern way of creating a healthy, happy heart and body.

Acute Edema and Back Pain

backBack pain is caused from a variety of problems including “Acute Pulmonary Edema.” Edema builds up abnormal and excessive fluids that cause serious actions to the tissue cells. What happens is similar to over watering plants. The plant will swell and gradually wither away.

Edema in acute stages is defined as heart failure to one side, yet the problem extends to cause pain in the back. What occurs is when the heart is interrupted; it channels the fluids to tubes, vessels, ducts, and passageways that extend to the lungs.

Causes of edema:
Edema may arise from inhaling smoke, MI, CHF, Myocarditis, excessive I.V. intakes of fluid, Valvular disease, overdose of drugs, such as morphine, barbiturates, and heroin. Acute edema arises from ARDS (Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and Atherosclerosis.

The lack of heart pumping can cause stress to the chest, which when the chest is scarred it affects the spines structure and mobility. Overarching the back is where back pain starts, since the chest is restricted from scarring and/or edema.

Experts will often use X-rays, ABG tests, ECG, and monitor Homodynamic to discover edema. Of course, edema can lead to major problems, such as Hypernatremia, Digoxin Toxicity, Hypokalemia, Excessive Fluid, and Pulmonary Blockage of the arteries, (Embolism), which starts blood clotting and affects blood circulation. Hypokalemia will decrease potassium intake that is required by blood. What happens is the decrease of potassium to the blood causes excessive excretion of fluids that lead to the muscles, which cause weakness. The back pain is not necessary the issue at this stage, since the heart is the starting point, which could lead to cardiac arrest.

When acute edema is present, experts will often restrict fluid intake, while administering I.V. fluids to substitute. Oxygen and meds are prescribed. Often the doctor will request that the patient remain consistent in a high position, such as “Fowler’s.”

Symptoms:
Edema may present fatigue, coughing, JVD, Hypophysis, murmurs, Orthopnea, one-side heart failure (Right often), low output of cardiac, exerted Dyspnea, and so on. The condition can cause various other symptoms to emerge as well.

Experts will request that the patient limit fluid intake, and join in oxygen therapy. Since edema causes excessive fluid buildup, isometric exercises, and bed, rest is required. Isometric workouts is the process of pushing muscles next to a sturdy surface, whereas the muscles are put under tension, yet restricted from contractions. The exercises are recommended in a variety of medical treatments when back pain is involved.

Edema also affects the joints, cartilages, muscles etc, which can cause tenderness, ulcers of the legs, changes of stasis, and so forth. Edema affects the veins found in the neck as well, which is one of the leading starts of back pain. To avoid traveling into the heart cavity and discussing heart conditions, I will sum up edema and the causes of back pain.

As I mentioned earlier, back pain starts with edema since when the heart is not pumping blood it affects the connective tissues, ligaments, tendons, muscles, cells, joints, etc. As you can see, when the skeleton elements are targeted pain will occur from swelling and inflammation. The cause of back pain then starts with excessive fluid buildup emerging from acute edema and/or peripheral edema conditions.

Back pain has affected millions of people, yet the leading causes emerge from nerve and musculoskeletal disorders. Still, many diseases andbody-aches disorders can cause back pain, including edema. In fact, when doctors discover musculoskeletal and nerve disorders, they often link one of the potential causes to edema.

So, what can we take to help with our back pains?  Well, let me introduce you to mangosteen.  Mangosteen is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia that is touted for its antioxidants, especially xanthones, a type of chemical in certain plants. Its rind may be dried and made into a powder, and substances are also extracted from its bark. Mangosteen products are also available in capsule and tablet form.

Despite the name, mangosteen is not related to the mango.

Although there is no reliable evidence that mangosteen is effective as an anti-inflammatory product, its fruit has been shown to be rich in anti-oxidants.

Are you a sodaholic?

sodaholicProbably the number one beverage sold through-out the United States maybe the world is soda.  Well, I am going to break your heart and hopefully that habit by sharing with you the shocking truth about SODA.

If you are a constant health nut or somebody that does a lot of reading of health magazines, then you are probably very aware of how bad soda is for you.  For those of you that probably don’t know, soda is nothing but sugar, has no nutritional value and it leads to obesity and diabetes.  But if that is not enough information to make you put down the soda for good, well I have gone out and researched nine other reasons for you to stop drinking soda for good.

  1. Danish researchers have found that non-diet soda leads to dramatic increases in fat buildup around the liver and skeletal muscles – something that can contribute to insulin resistance and diabetes.  According to Reuters, the study revealed that people who drank a regular soda every day for six months saw a 132 to 142 percent increase in liver fat, a 117 to 221 percent jump in skeletal fat, and about a 30 percent increase in both triglyceride blood fats and other organ fat. Their consumption also led to an 11 percent increase in cholesterol, compared with the people who drank other beverages such as water or milk
  2. I use a regular drinker of diet soda because I feel for the belief that it was better for me and I would not get fat from it.  Well to my surprise, researchers from the University of Texas Health Science Center monitored 475 adults for 10 years, and found that those who drank diet soda had a 70 percent increase in waist circumference over the 10-year study, compared with those who didn’t drink any soda. Those who drank more than two diet sodas per day saw a 500 percent waist expansion! What?!  No wonder I gained weight like crazy.  But I am glad to say that I have lost some of that expansion. Read more about my Weight Loss Journey.
  3. In 2011, the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public Interest petitioned the Food and Drug Administration to ban the artificial caramel coloring used to make Coke, Pepsi, and other colas brown. The reason: Two contaminants in the coloring, 2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole, have been found to cause cancer in animals, a threat the group says is unnecessary, considering that the coloring is purely cosmetic. According to California’s strict Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to cause cancer, just 16 micrograms per person per day of 4-methylimidazole is enough to pose a cancer threat, and most popular brown colas, both diet and regular, contain 200 micrograms per 20-ounce bottle.
  4. Diet or regular, all colas contain phosphates, or phosphoric acid, a weak acid that gives colas their tangy flavor and improves their shelf life. Although it exists in many whole foods, such as meat, dairy, and nuts, too much phosphoric acid can lead to heart and kidney problems, muscle loss, and osteoporosis, and one study suggests it could trigger accelerated aging. The study, published in a 2010 issue of the FASEB Journal, found that the excessive phosphate levels found in sodas caused lab rats to die a full five weeks earlier than the rats whose diets had more normal phosphate levels—a disturbing trend considering that soda manufacturers have been increasing the levels of phosphoric acid in their products over the past few decades.
  5. The artificial sweeteners used in diet sodas don’t break down in our bodies, nor do wastewater-treatment plants catch them before they enter waterways, researchers have found. In 2009, Swiss scientists tested water samples from wastewater-treatment plants, rivers and lakes in Switzerland and detected levels of acesulfame K, sucralose, and saccharin, all of which are, or have been, used in diet sodas. A recent test of 19 municipal water supplies in the U.S. revealed the presence of sucralose in every one. It’s not clear yet what these low levels are doing to people, but past research has found that sucralose in rivers and lakes interferes with some organisms’ feeding habits.
  6. Dentists have a name for the condition they see in kids who drink too much Mountain Dew. They wind up with a “Mountain Dew Mouth,” full of cavities caused by the drink’s excessive sugar levels. “Mountain Dew Mind” may be the next medical condition that gets named after the stuff. An ingredient called brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, added to prevent the flavoring from separating from the drink, is an industrial chemical used as a flame retardant in plastics. Also found in other citrus-based soft drinks and sports drinks, the chemical has been known to cause memory loss and nerve disorders when consumed in large quantities. Researchers also suspect that, like brominated flame retardants used in furniture foam, the chemical builds up in body fat, possibly causing behavioral problems, infertility, and lesions on heart muscles over time.
  7. It’s not just the soda that’s causing all the problems. Nearly all aluminum soda cans are lined with an epoxy resin called bisphenol A (BPA), used to keep the acids in soda from reacting with the metal. BPA is known to interfere with hormones, and has been linked to everything from infertility to obesity and diabetes and some forms of reproductive cancers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have pegged soda cans, along with restaurant, school, and fast-food meals, as a major source of exposure to the chemical. And while Pepsi and Coke are currently locked in a battle to see which company can be the first to develop a 100 percent plant-based-plastic bottle—which they’re touting as “BPA free”—neither company is willing to switch to BPA-free aluminum cans.
  8. Before you switch from cans to bottles, though, take a look at the photographs of Chris Jordan, an environmentalist and photographer who visited the Midway Atoll area in 2009. It’s close to the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch,” a mass of plastic debris in the Pacific Ocean where things like soda caps (which often aren’t recycled) and plastic fish netting float just beneath the surface of the water. Birds, sea turtles, and other wildlife mistake the debris for food and eat large quantities of the plastic, which they are unable to digest. Ultimately, the plastic causes them to starve to death. It’s estimated that thousands of animals die this way every year.
  9. Take a look at the ingredients list for any soda and chances are most of those ingredients are derived from corn. As much as 88 percent of the corn grown in the U.S. is genetically modified to resist toxic pesticides or engineered to create pesticides within the plant itself. Thanks to lax government safety regulations, and tight corporate control over who gets to test these proprietary seeds, there are no human studies that can prove or disprove whether these crops are safe. Independent scientists have found that, in animals, genetically modified crops, or GMOs, are linked to digestive tract damage, accelerated aging, and even infertility. Most recently, scientists in France found that rats fed GMO corn for their entire two-year lifespan developed mammary tumors and died earlier than rats that ate non-GMO corn their entire lives.

Therefore, put down the soda for good and start drinking water and teas.  Your body will thank you.  If you are drinking soda for the caffeine, try AwareAware is the Ultimate attack on stress!  It is loaded with B vitamins and essential ingredients to naturally calm and relieve stress.  Tap into the super energy.  It is also a great way to start the morning or use as a pre-workout.

Enjoying and controlling the buffet.

buffetLet’s face it; those lovely buffet restaurants are very tempting. Especially the Chinese buffets. So, how can one go to a buffet and have control at the same time. Since we have to watch what we eat. In the journal Obesity, they reported that a person’s eating and sitting behaviors at a buffet might influence their weight. When I read that, I automatically said, “Duh!” But then I thought about the message behind the statement. They are basically saying that monitoring the actions that we take at the buffets can help us avoid overeating. Therefore, I would like to provide six simple actions that you can take when at the buffets to help yourself from overeating.

1. Grab a Salad Plate instead of the plate provided – It is suggested that using a smaller plate with the buffet gives the illusion of more food than what you actually have, thus you end up eating less. Heavy individuals are more likely to choose the largest dish available, according to a study done by Obesity.

chopsticks2. Eat with Chopsticks or smaller utensils (If they are provided) – According to my research, those who use smaller utensils or chopsticks then to eat a lot slower than those that don’t.

3. Try to sit where you’re not looking at the food – Two thoughts run through our heads. The first is that you want to get what you paid for and the second is FOOD! Therefore, if you are seating in a position that has you looking at the buffet while eating, you tend to get more tempted to refill the plate plus your little devil on the shoulder helps with convincing you by reminding you that you need to get what you paid for.

4. Take a Lap – When I first read about this, I started laughing. But, according to a study that was done by Obesity, walking around the buffet table and looking at the food first keeps you from over-eating. No wonder why all those thin people take a lap around the buffet first before serving themselves.

5. Watch what you drink – I am not going to write and lecture anybody about the dangers of soda, because we already waterknow, but there may be some facts that you may not realize: See, a cup of sweet tea is only slightly better than soda. Every glass that is drunk with dinner adds about 120 calories on top of the calories in your meal, and juice is just about the same. According to a study from the University of North Carolina, flavored drinks add 450 calories to our daily diet. Think about that, it’s basically an extra 47 pounds of body mass that you have to burn off (or not) each year. Think about drinking more water, it has the opposite effect: The more you drink, the more you shrink. Choose accordingly.

6. Engage in Conversation – According to dietitian and nutritionist Cara Stewart, It takes your stomach about 20 minutes to tell you that you’re full. Therefore, when you’re at the buffet you need to eat slowly conversationto avoid yourself form overeating. In order for that to not be so hard, just set your fork down every now and again and engage in the table conversation. If there isn’t one going on, then start one.

Therefore, the next time you go to the buffet, just remember these tips and use them.   As always you could use appetite suppressants like garcinia cambogia which is in the product Max.

Body Aches and Pain…Mangosteen is the answer!

body-achesDo you suffer from body aches or other types of pain?  Do you take an anti-inflammatory medication to help ease those aches and pains?  Do you know the truth about those medications?  Well, it’s about time that you are made aware of just exactly what you are putting inside your body.  I’m talking about acetaminophen.  According to about.com, acetaminophen is a very common medication that is used to treat mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.  It’s an over-the-counter pain reliever sold in joint-paina huge variety of brands – such as Tylenol.

The problem with acetaminophen is that it can cause serious liver damage which can be fatal.  The sad thing regarding acetaminophen is that it is in all kinds of medications for example: cough, cold, flu remedies and even those for headaches (like Tylenol and Excedrin).  I always suggest reading the label to make sure you are aware of what is in your medication.  If you don’t, you might take both a flu/cold medicine AND acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen and not realize that you are taking too much.

Then there is aspirin, which can cause internal bleeding if you take too much.   Most of us, including myself, recognize the word aspirin and think of brands like Bayer, but it can also be labeled as acetylsalicylic acid on an over-the-counter drug.

According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, aspirin among other uses has been used to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Aspirin, however, can also cause damage to the stomach and/or intestinal lining leading to the development of erosions (“small sores”) and/or ulcers (“large sores”). Erosions may cause bleeding (“bleeding ulcers”) and/or perforations (“holes in the stomach”). Acetaminophen, often referred by the brand name, Tylenol, is also used to treat minor pains but is not commonly recognized to cause damage to the stomach lining.  Brands like Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) can cause severe stomach pain. Ibuprofen causes liver damage.

So, what can we take to help with our inflammatory problems?  Well, let me introduce you to mangosteen.NP-Mangosteen Fruit  Mangosteen is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia that is touted for its antioxidants, especially xanthones, a type of chemical in certain plants. Garcinia Cambogia: The Holy Grail of Weight Loss

custom594_garcinia-cambogia-plant  Everybody today is looking for some way to lose weight.  Yet, we just can’t seem to get ourselves to the gym because we have no time or just don’t feel like it.  Last week, I wrote about raspberry ketones and how they can assist in weight loss.  This week I would like to discuss with you about another weight loss supplement that even Dr. Oz has called, “The Holy Grail of Weight Loss.”dr-oz-garcinia-cambogia

Garcinia Cambogia is a small, pumpkin-shaped fruit, sometimes called tamarind. According to WebMD, garcinia cambogia is native to Indonesia; it is also grown in India, Southeast Asia, and West and Central Africa. It has long been used in traditional South Asian dishes, including curries and chutneys. Many also use the fruit for curing fish and preservation.

Adding this ingredient to meals is considered to be effective in making meals more “filling.” In some villages in Malaysia, garcinia is used to make a soup that is eaten before meals for weight loss because of garcinia’s appetite-blocking abilities.

This plant offers one of the least expensive herbal supplements on the market. The ingredient from the rind of the fruit could hasten your weight-loss efforts. The natural extract is called hydroxycitric acid (HCA), and researchers claim that HCA can double or triple one’s weight loss.  With proper weight-loss efforts (dieting and exercising), the average person taking HCA lost an average of four pounds a monthGarcinia may also be great for emotional eaters.

So how exactly does Garcinia Cambogia work?

weight-loss-with-garcinia-cambogiaThe HCA extract from garcinia cambogia supplement aids in weight loss by doing two things: It helps to block fat, and it suppresses your appetite.

HCA blocks fat by slowing down a key enzyme that our body needs to make fat from carbohydrates: Citrate lyase. Usually carbohydrates or sugars that are not used immediately or stored in other forms are converted into fats. According to WebMD, when HCA inhibits citrate lyase, the fat-making process is halted and the production of LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides decrease.

Therefore, HCA also suppresses appetite by increasing serotonin levels. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in our brain that makes us feel good. It’s a target of many antidepressant medications. Having low levels of serotonin may make you feel depressed or anxious; it drives many people into emotional or reactive eating. According to Psychology Today, by increasing serotonin levels, HCA improves mood and suppresses the drive to react to stressful situations with food. In other words, as we eat less, our body senses this and it releases stored fat in our fat cells.
